Partnership for growth: NN1 Personnel drivers enable Route Logistics to achieve growth ambitions

May 3rd, 2018

Route Logistics Ltd, a family owned business based in Corby, Northamptonshire, has been providing palletised distribution services within the UK, Ireland and Europe to a number of large blue chip companies across the UK since it was established in 2005 by ex HGV driver, Paul Clifton.

In 2016, the company was approached by NN1 Personnel, a supplier of temporary drivers and logistics staff which is run by husband and wife team Damian and Justyna Sodel.

Justyna, who has years of logistics industry experience, and Damian, who is a HGV driver and Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) trainer, contacted Chris Robinson, Transport Operations Director at Route Logistics Ltd, and asked if they could help the company to source temporary drivers.

BUSINESS NEEDS

Chris says: “Justyna was persistent, but in a good way. I was impressed with her attitude and aptitude and, as a business which regularly utilises temporary HGV Class 1 drivers to cover night shifts, weekends and peak periods such as Christmas, we are always looking for additional support in this area.

“NN1 Personnel listened to our requirements and initially supplied drivers on an ad-hoc basis in line with our customer demands. In fact, over the Christmas period, NN1 Personnel was able to supply us with 20 drivers over a one-day period which enabled us to stay on track with our deliveries at an extremely busy time.”

BUSINESS GROWTH

During the past two years whilst Route Logistics has been working with NN1 Personnel, both companies have experienced growth, supporting one another along the way.

Chris says: “As we have grown, so has NN1 Personnel but that has certainly not affected the service levels we have received. Our relationship has continued to be about supply and demand. In my opinion, NN1 Personnel started off small and got its business model right. It is now scaling that up. I can categorically say, that working with NN1 Personnel has been a big part of Route Logistics’ success over the past two years.”

ONGOING RELATIONSHIP

As Route Logistics has grown, the requirement for good quality skilled drivers has increased and NN1 Personnel has managed to deliver every time.

Chris says: “NN1 Personnel has strong ethics and values as a business, believing in honesty, trust and integrity. This is then supported by fantastic communications, stringent back-up systems and driver checks – often without being asked or prompted – and regular visits.

“It is now our number one driver supplier and, not only do we have a good working relationship, I now consider Justyna and Damian Sodel friends. Long may it continue!”

Justyna Sodel added: “It has been a pleasure to work with Chris and the team at Route Logistics as they share the same core values as we do, always being completely honest with us and treating our drivers well. It has been great to watch Route Logistics grow and to know that their business has developed, in part, because of the reliable and good quality drivers we have provided means a lot.”

Route Logistics and NN1 Personnel celebrate NN1 Personnel’s third birthday in January 2018.
