We are celebrating female driver named HGV Driver of the Year 2025
Two weeks ago we attended a great night of celebration as the Northamptonshire Logistics Awards brought together the very best of our industry.
We are happy to say the evening of September 26, 2025, will remain another proud milestone in the history of NN1 Personnel.
This event was more than another entry in a trophy cabinet. It was an affirmation of our values, our commitment to excellence, and our ongoing drive to support diversity in logistics. The evening reaffirmed a core belief: logistics is powered by people, not just vehicles or routes.
We would like to congratulate all shortlisted nominees for their outstanding achievements. And hearty well done to every award recipient whose commitment and skill were recognised. We’re especially proud to join their ranks—one of our drivers took home top honours.
Meet our hero female HGV driver – Agnieszka Galle!

We’re thrilled that Agnieszka Galle won the HGV Driver of the Year 2025 title!
We are so, so proud of Agnieszka!
Since registering with NN1 Personnel in 2016, she’s thrown herself into mastering every detail of HGV driving. From walkaround checks to navigating international routes—earning a flawless safety record and praise for her calm efficiency on 15-hour shifts.
As a wife, mother, and one of the UK’s few female HGV drivers, Agnieszka has quietly shattered stereotypes. She mentors new colleagues, shares practical advice, and proves every day that determination and skill matter more than gender. Her win as HGV Driver of the Year 2025 sends a powerful message: “The truck doesn’t know your gender—it just needs someone with heart and sense on the road.”
How often do you see a woman driving an HGV? We’ll bet it’s not very often. In the UK, just 1.5 % of HGV drivers are female, even though women make up around 17 % of the wider logistics workforce. That discrepancy isn’t for lack of talent or ambition; it’s a stubborn gender gap that our industry needs to address.
Some research shows that outdated stereotypes still cast doubt on women’s physical strength and technical ability behind the wheel. This discourages many from pursuing an HGV career. We know firsthand that these misconceptions are baseless—Agnieszka’s flawless safety record alone speaks volumes about skill, discipline, and professionalism.
On the road, poor facilities make life tougher for all drivers but hit women especially hard. Secure parking and clean showers can be scarce, and rest areas often feel unsafe after dark. Add in real safety risks—like theft, harassment, or isolation on long-haul routes—and it’s clear why many women hesitate to take up the challenge.
We think Agnieszka’s triumph proves these barriers can be overcome. Her award as HGV Driver of the Year highlights the urgent need for inclusive recruitment, improved driver support services, and stronger safety measures. With inclusive hiring, better attitude and support, more women can drive the industry forward.
Thank you to Charlotte Patrick for organising the Northamptonshire Logistics Awards and to everyone who made the evening so special. Congratulations again to all the winners—and a huge, heartfelt congrats to Agnieszka.
We’re incredibly proud to celebrate her win and to reaffirm our commitment to diversity, safety, and excellence in logistics. Her achievement inspires us to keep breaking barriers and to support every driver—regardless of background—in reaching their full potential on the road.
